Sun, Sand & Wi-Fi: Our Digital Nomad Escape at Eagle Aruba Resort

Eagle Aruba Resort

If you’ve been craving an island escape that mixes laptop-friendly mornings with mojito-fuelled sunsets, Eagle Aruba Resort should be on your radar. Tucked into Aruba’s low-rise district, just a short stroll from world-famous Eagle Beach, this three-star gem is where sun-filled adventure meets the kind of chill vibes that digital nomads live for.

This is not your average cookie-cutter resort. Eagle Aruba gives you space to live — proper suites with kitchens, balconies, and enough room to stretch out after a long day of calls, cocktails, or beach tennis. My friends Adriana and Eduardo joined me on this trip. Between Adriana’s endless model poses and Eduardo’s talent for finding the best late-night snacks, we turned this quiet corner of paradise into our base for an unforgettable week.

Where Ocean Breezes Meet Morning Zoom Calls

You feel the Caribbean the second you step outside your suite. Eagle Beach is just a five-minute walk — which means coffee in one hand, flip-flops in the other, and salt air greeting you before you’ve even finished waking up.

We quickly made it a ritual: morning swims followed by “stand-up meetings” (literally standing up, wet hair dripping) on our balconies overlooking the pools. The resort’s three pools are like three different moods — one quiet for early laptop work, one livelier for mid-day dips, and one with a swim-up bar where I, of course, tested the mojito quality (verdict: excellent). One of my favourite moments happened on day two. Eduardo came back from the nearby market carrying coconuts, wearing his linen shirt wide open like he was in a music video.

Adriana just laughed, grabbed her neon bikini cover-up, and insisted we all take photos under the fofoti trees. We must have taken 50 pictures before we even made it to breakfast. That’s the vibe here: spontaneous, sun-kissed, and just relaxed enough that work doesn’t feel like work.

And yes — Wi-Fi is solid. I ran a 50+ Mbps speed test poolside, which meant smooth client calls even with the sound of splashing kids in the background. Honestly, there’s no better “office soundtrack.”

Tastes of Aruba: Where We Ate, Sipped & Laughed

Eagle Aruba Resort

Eagle Aruba has enough on-site options that you don’t always need to leave. Uncle Tony’s Pizza became our go-to spot for dinner — not just because of the cheesy, thin-crust pizzas (which Adriana called “dangerously good”) but because of the atmosphere: fairy lights, casual outdoor seating, warm service.

One night, I wore my favourite tattoo-revealing tank top, Adriana rocked a bright coral wrap dress over her swimsuit, and Eduardo dressed like he was headed to a salsa club. We ordered pizza, pasta, and an unapologetic number of cocktails. Halfway through the meal, a sudden Caribbean drizzle started, and instead of running, we stayed, laughing under the umbrellas while the staff brought extra napkins.

Breakfasts were equally easy — the resort serves a buffet every morning, perfect for a quick bite before heading to the beach. But my personal tip? Grab an iced coffee from Dunkin’ (yes, there’s one on site), pair it with a sweet treat from Baskin-Robbins, and watch the island wake up.

For workdays, having Villa Market nearby was a lifesaver. Eduardo loved playing chef, whipping up fresh pasta in our suite’s kitchen while Adriana tried to convince us that wine at 2 PM was “culturally appropriate.”

Living Spaces Designed for Actual Living

Eagle Aruba Resort

Here’s where Eagle Aruba stands out. These aren’t tiny hotel rooms — they’re suites with kitchens, dining areas, sofas, and enough room for three nomads to co-exist without wanting to throttle each other.

Our two-bedroom suite had a spacious living room, a full kitchen (think stovetop, microwave, full-size fridge), and a balcony where we spent most evenings. Adriana loved lounging there in her bikini top and sarong, scrolling Instagram, while I answered emails and Eduardo mixed rum punch for everyone.

The bedrooms were proper sanctuaries — comfy beds, crisp linens, good air-conditioning. The bathrooms had rainfall showers that felt five-star. And best of all? Daily housekeeping kept the place fresh despite our sand-covered feet constantly traipsing through.

One night, we held what Eduardo called a “midweek celebration”: he cooked, I put on a playlist, and Adriana staged a mini-fashion show with her beach outfits. That’s what you get with Eagle Aruba — not just a place to sleep but a space to live.

From Beach Tennis to Spa Bliss: Our Leisure Highlights

Eagle Aruba Resort

If you’re anything like us, you want more than just a lounger. Eagle Aruba makes it easy to stay active: three pools, beach tennis courts, and even organised activities like water aerobics (yes, we joined once — yes, I splashed everyone on purpose).

The fitness centre is open 24/7, which means I could keep up with my workouts before hitting the beach. Adriana joined once, took three selfies in front of the mirror, and declared she had done enough cardio for the day.

For recovery, the on-site spa is brilliant. I booked a deep-tissue massage after a particularly long day of beach volleyball. Eduardo went for aromatherapy and came back so zen we barely recognised him.

And let’s not forget Eagle Beach itself. Powdery white sand, water so clear it feels unreal, sunsets that look like they were designed in Photoshop. We spent hours just lying there, talking about life, taking turns snapping photos, and plotting our next destination.
